We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our established Theatre Technician Team, supporting the operation and delivery of technical services across two vibrant performance venues at our City Campus Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team in a dynamic, creative environment, playing a vital role in facilitating a wide range of performances, events, and productions.
This position is permanent, on a full-time (35 hours per week) basis. You should be flexible with the ability to work evenings and the occasional weekend. Our facilities include two venues, seven equipped studios, wardrobe and props store and a set design workshop.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable background in production support for theatre and have an excellent understanding of the professional theatre environment. Specialisms in theatre sound design and operation and scenic design and construction would be an advantage. As the team support from the initial design process to fit ups, plotting and operation of each production, the candidate must also be multi-skilled across other disciplines of theatre such as lighting, rigging, set design and stage management. The ability to multi-task, being self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team and independently are essential.
Experience of working with young people in an education setting and up to date health and safety and safeguarding processes is also an advantage.
