Are you passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment for young people? The Manchester College is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Team Leader to champion the wellbeing and protection of our students. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring every learner feels secure and supported throughout their educational journey.

In this pivotal role, you will lead and empower our safeguarding team, offering expert guidance, case oversight, and professional development. You'll work collaboratively across the college to uphold best practices and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies. Join us in making a lasting difference in the lives of our learners.

We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey campus to join our Foundation Learning and Student Support Department as a Safeguarding Team Leader on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Our Harpurhey campus is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment located in North Manchester, offering excellent facilities tailored to vocational education. The campus specialises in areas such as sport, public services, and foundation learning, with dedicated spaces that support hands-on, practical teaching. With a strong sense of community and a focus on student success, Harpurhey is a rewarding place to work, where staff can truly make an impact in learners’ lives.

The Manchester College is the Largest Further Education College in the United Kingdom and has the largest provisions for 16-19yrs olds, adults, and higher education in Greater Manchester. We are part of the LTE group that consists of MOL, Total People, UCEN Manchester, Novus, and LTE Group Operations. We currently support more than 25% of Greater Manchester’s learning provision and are currently rated “Good” by Ofsted.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Qualified to at least Level 4 in a relevant subject – e.g. Teaching, Social Care, Youth Work, Careers Guidance.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics or equivalent.

All applicants will be required to undergo an appropriate DBS check via the Criminal Records Bureau and may be subject to additional online checks as part of our pre-screening process.
