We’re looking for a dedicated Safeguarding Practitioner to play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students across the college. This is a vital position at the heart of our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. You’ll work closely with staff, students, and external agencies to identify, assess, and respond to safeguarding concerns. Your knowledge, empathy, and professional judgement will help protect and empower some of our most vulnerable learners. We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus Manchester to join our Foundation Learning Department as a Safeguarding Practitioner on a fixed-term (maternity cover), full-time (35 hours per week) term-time only basis (40 weeks).

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in a relevant subject - Coaching / Mentoring / Teaching or Social/Youth Work
  • Hold Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
  • Experience of working or volunteering with Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults
  • Experience of providing safeguarding and/or welfare support to children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • A good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Flexible, creative and solution-focused approach to completing tasks
  • Empathy with Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults
  • Experience of forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults
  • Ability to display emotional resilience when faced with challenging behaviours
  • An awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion
  • An awareness and understanding of issues relating to the safeguarding and promotion of welfare of Young People and/or Vulnerable Adults, in accordance with current legislation
  • Experience of project planning and report writing
