We have an exciting opportunity at our Wythenshawe campus to join our Sport, Public Services and Care Professions Department as a Lead Technician (Animal Care) on a permanent, full‑time (35 hours per week) basis.Weekend working is a key requirement of this role as part of the ongoing care and welfare needs of the animals.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of animal welfare, supporting the delivery of the Animal Management curriculum, and line managing a team of Animal Care Technicians.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Level 2 English & Mathematics.
  • NVQ level 2 in an industry relevant qualification.
  • First Aid qualification (or be prepared to work towards within first year).
  • Specific relevant industry experience, including functional responsibilities.
  • Management of stock control, budgets.
  • Ability to supervise cross site teams.
  • Ability to foster teamwork.
  • Ability to foster a culture of collaboration.
  • Ability to plan and delegate.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
