Join the dynamic team at Arden School of Theatre as our Lead Technician, responsible for planning, operating and maintaining theatre and event technologies. This hands‑on role requires strong expertise in lighting, sound, staging and venue operations, and the ability to oversee technical setups, supervise technicians and ensure all spaces and equipment meet the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and operate technical aspects of productions and live events.
  • Supervise technicians and support staff during technical rehearsals and performances.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lighting, sound, rigging and other theatre systems.
  • Ensure all equipment and venues operate safely and to required standards.
  • Actively contribute to the development of innovative theatre and event solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience in theatrical or event technical production.
  • Proven expertise in lighting, sound, staging and venue operations.
  • Strong organisational, problem‑solving and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, creative environment.
  • Experience supervising a technical team is desirable.

Working Hours & Site

Permanent full‑time (35 hours per week) based at the City Campus Manchester. The role may also require off‑site events.
