We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw Campus to join our Sports, Public Services and Care Professions Department as an Education and Early Years Teacher on a permanent, part-time (14 hours per week) basis.
Our Openshaw campus is a vibrant, modern hub of learning, equipped with outstanding, industry-standard facilities designed to inspire both staff and students. Located just outside Manchester city centre, the campus offers a wide range of vocational and academic courses, with specialist spaces for areas such as construction, engineering, health, and digital.
The Manchester College is the largest Further Education College in the United Kingdom and has the largest provisions for 16-19 year olds, adults, and higher education in Greater Manchester. We currently support more than 25% of Greater Manchester’s learning provision and are currently rated “Good” by Ofsted. We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £30,750 - £32,931. It’s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Certificate of education or PGCE.
- Current and valid industry specialism.
- Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
- Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
- English and maths minimum level 2 grade C or grade 4 and above.
- Level 4 or above in education and early years or related subject.
- Experience of working in FE.
- Experience of working in the education and early years sector.
