We\’re looking for a passionate and knowledgeable IT Teacher with a proven track record of delivering engaging and effective lessons within the FE sector. Your expertise will include industry-relevant content such as programming, cybersecurity, networking, and the latest software tools., and you\’ll be committed to embedding digital literacy, real-world application, and employability skills into the curriculum.

We have an exciting opportunity on offer at City Campus to join our Business, Computing & Digital Industries Department as an IT Teacher on a permanent, part-time (17.5hpw) basis.

Start your teaching journey with us!

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. Our Teaching Academy will support you to work towards QTS for post-16 compulsory education through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between 28,300.00 – 30,307.50 . It\’s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you\’ve qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you\’ll progress to the qualified teacher banding. Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances .

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate of education or PGCE
  • Current and valid industry specialism
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
  • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above
  • The successful candidate should have relevant qualifications and experience to be able to teach entry 3 to L3 I.T. related qualifications
