We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey campus to join our Sport, Public Services and Care Professions Department as a Health and Social Care Teacher on a permanent, part‑time (17.5 hours per week) basis.

Site Information: Our Harpurhey campus is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment located in North Manchester, offering excellent facilities tailored to vocational education. The campus specialises in areas such as sport, public services, and foundation learning, with dedicated spaces that support hands‑on, practical teaching. With a strong sense of community and a focus on student success, Harpurhey is a rewarding place to work, where staff can truly make an impact in learners’ lives.

Start your teaching journey with us! We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post‑16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3‑4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Certificate of education or PGCE
  • Current and valid industry specialism
  • Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
  • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above
  • Significant experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning
  • Proven track record of high‑quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism
  • Working as a team
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Meet delivery targets and plans
  • Accurate and timely reports and records
  • Positive contribution to planning processes
