Are you a passionate chef with a flair for teaching and inspiring others? We\’re looking for a Chef Teacher to share their culinary expertise with the next generation of aspiring cooks. In this hands-on role, you\’ll plan and deliver engaging lessons, mentor learners, and foster a love for food and kitchen skills. We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey Campus to join our Service and Retail Industries Department as a Chef Teacher on a permanent, part-time (17.5 hours per week) basis.

Our Harpurhey campus is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment located in North Manchester, offering excellent facilities tailored to vocational education. The campus specialises in areas such as sport, public services, and foundation learning, with dedicated spaces that support hands-on, practical teaching. We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between 28,300.00 – 30,307.50 . It\’s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you\’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you\’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.

Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances .
