We have an exciting opportunity at our City Campus Manchester to join our Sport, Public Services and Care Professions Department as a Science (Physics) Teacher on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Start your teaching journey with us! We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £30,750 - £32,931. It’s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Certificate of education or PGCE.
- Current and valid industry specialism.
- Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
- Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
- English and maths minimum level 2 Grade C or grade 4 and above.
- Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
- Teach BTEC Level 3.
- Proven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism.
- Working as a team.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Meet delivery targets and plans.
- Accurate and timely reports and records.
- Positive contribution to planning processes.
