Are you a teacher who’s passionate about guiding students to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom? At The Manchester College, we’re looking for Achievement Tutors to support learners' academic success through engaging group tutorials. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in helping students stay on track, meet their goals, and thrive in their studies by delivering outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment via engaging activities, resources, and focused academic coaching while monitoring individual student progress in 1‑1 reviews using tools like ProMonitor and Markbook.

You’ll collaborate closely with teaching teams, develop high-quality learning resources, and champion student voice, employability, and achievement at every stage. We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey campus to join us as an Achievement Tutor (Childcare) on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Our Harpurhey campus is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment located in North Manchester, offering excellent facilities tailored to vocational education. The campus specialises in areas such as sport, public services, and foundation learning, with dedicated spaces that support hands‑on, practical teaching. The Manchester College is the largest further education college in the United Kingdom and has the largest provisions for 16‑19‑year‑olds, adults, and higher education in Greater Manchester. We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post‑16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3‑4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £30,750 – £32,931. Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances.

All applicants will be required to undergo an appropriate DBS check via the Criminal Records Bureau and may be subject to additional online checks as part of our pre‑screening process. Some roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and would require an Enhanced DBS check.
