Overview
As Fleet Maintenance Manager you oversee the operational vehicle fleet at East Midlands Airport, from snow removal gear to ambulifts and cars. You lead a five-person team, ensuring planned maintenance, repairs, testing and servicing are delivered safely and efficiently. You’ll assign work, enforce health and safety, and ensure timely parts sourcing. The role focuses on vehicle technology, fleet sustainability, and reliability to keep airport operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on leadership position with a clear impact on safety and performance.

Responsibilities
- Manage and schedule maintenance, repairs, testing and servicing of the fleet
- Lead a team of five, assigning work and supervising performance
- Ensure health and safety compliance across all maintenance activities
- Coordinate parts sourcing and timely availability
- Oversee operations to maintain reliability and safety of fleet
- Support on-call and overtime requirements as needed
- Promote fleet sustainability and technology awareness
Key requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance or equivalent
- Experience in a workshop environment
- Experience in leading a team
- Full clean UK Driving Licence
- Class 1 or 2 HGV Licence would be an advantage
- Able to travel to East Midlands Airport daily and work overtime
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Microsoft Office IT literacy
- IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
- Internal Quality Systems Auditing or equivalent
