The role
As our Commercial Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of our e-commerce business, informing and supporting decision-making by providing accurate, timely and relevant analysis across our key revenue streams. This role plays a critical part in developing the analytical capability of the e-commerce team. You will use data to optimise trading strategies, analyse pricing, promotions and product performance, and ensure maximum commercial benefit is gained from our investments. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Trading Managers and Heads of E-commerce to optimise trading strategies through analysis of key markets
- Analysing pricing, discount and product changes, working collaboratively to improve performance
- Providing a suite of trading reports to inform daily and longer-term trading decisions
- Developing best practice approaches to working with complex and disparate datasets
- Creating clear, impactful data visualisations to highlight performance trends, risks and opportunities
- Building and maintaining commercial models, including scenario modelling for hypothetical trading situations
- Supporting the budget planning process, forecasting and in-year performance tracking
- Producing commercial reports and insight using Google Analytics, Power BI and SQL
- Sharing insight, skills and experience across the wider analyst community, promoting a strong “squad” mentality
About You
We’re looking for a commercially minded analyst who enjoys working with data, uncovering insight and influencing decisions. You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience in an analytical role within digital, data, e-commerce, commercial environments
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics and Power BI (essential)
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and confidence selecting appropriate analytical tools
- A high level of commercial awareness, with the ability to question data and challenge assumptions
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to provide honest insight and opinion
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SQL (highly desirable)
You’ll be comfortable working cross-functionally with E-commerce, Data, Digital Marketing, Finance, Group IS and regional teams across AMER and EMEA. This role is more than day to day reporting, we are looking for candidates who can drive insights and commercial value.
