Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure airfield environment to support aircraft operations.
- Conduct daily inspections of the airfield and designated areas to identify hazards, pavement defects, or non‑compliance issues.
- Report incidents, safety concerns, or irregularities immediately to the Airfield Safety and Compliance Officer and support efforts to keep the environment free from Foreign Object Debris.
- Maintain airfield security through a continuous, random patrol regime across the airfield, including perimeter roads, access gates, and restricted zones.
- Verify the validity and correct display of personnel and vehicle access passes and report any breaches or incursions of airport security procedures.
- Ensure that aircraft parked within the Critical Part are properly secured when not in use.
- Manage and control access to airside areas: oversee vehicle access and egress, escort contractors and individuals without full airside access, and facilitate the movement of airport security personnel.
- Escort emergency services to incidents via the most direct and efficient routes, maintaining safety and operational continuity during critical situations.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies in accordance with the airport's emergency plan and departmental procedures, providing operational support during incidents, keeping routes clear, and maintaining situational awareness.
- Support aircraft movements, such as towing operations, by ensuring areas are safe and maintaining appropriate surveillance until aircraft are positioned securely.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities, including logging patrols, inspections, vehicle and pass checks, escort duties, incidents, and breaches; submit these to the Airfield Operations Duty Manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of professional competency through ongoing training and assessment, including Level 1 Security training, role‑specific training, and participation in both overt and covert competency checks.
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
