The Manc Group has an exciting opportunity for a Social Media & Content Executive to join the team to work across our publications, The Manc, The Manc Eats, Audio North, The Hoot Leeds, and The Sheff. We are the UK's most engaged local social publisher, covering news, food and drink, music, events, tourism and more across Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and beyond. As the people’s voice of these cities and with our audience-first approach, we reach more than 2.4 million people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, filming, editing and packaging engaging videos and imagery for a range of social media platforms. We are looking for an outgoing and highly organised individual who is passionate about social media and has an awareness of the current trends, the hospitality scene and events. Previous experience in a similar role or agency is highly desirable. Whilst we are recruiting for our Manchester office, some travel will be required when necessary to our other cities. Knowledge of all three cities is essential.

Key responsibilities:
  • Filming and photographing UGC content to publish cross-platform
  • Editing video content for a variety of social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc…)
  • Creative writing for scripts and captions within The Manc Group's tone of voice
  • Scheduling content daily
  • Sourcing trending and city-relevant content
  • Sourcing trending viral video content
  • Generating original viral/trending content ideas
  • Working with the wider social, video, and editorial team to plan for upcoming events
Skills:
  • Strong video editing skills using Adobe Creative Cloud: Premier Pro and Photoshop
  • Highly organised, preferably with experience in using Creator Studio / Later for scheduling and project management software
  • Ability to work at pace and to deadlines is essential
  • Ability to work to creative briefs is essential
Desirables:
  • Driving licence
  • Strong network across all three cities but especially Manchester
  • Keen interest in events, music, food and drink
