The Southbank Centre is Europe's largest arts centre and the UK's fifth most visited attraction, occupying an 11‑acre site that sits in the midst of London's most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames. Our focus, as a charity, is to remain innovative, bold and experimental in what we do and to be highly relevant to the artists we want to work with and to the audiences we want to attract as well as to our current and future employees. We remain committed to creating a place where as many people as possible can come together to experience bold, unusual, entertaining and eye‑opening work.
At this exciting time, we are seeking an outstanding Technical Services Manager who is responsible for providing technical leadership and operational management of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services and integrated security systems across the Southbank Centre. This includes ensuring that all MEP infrastructure and specialised security assets – including Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, Turbonet and CCTV – meet the highest professional standards, fully comply with statutory requirements and maintenance protocols, and support the Centre's mission, operations, and visitor safety.
We are looking for a Technical Services Manager who will play a vital role in keeping the Southbank Centre safe, resilient and future‑ready. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on responsibility, collaboration and problem‑solving, someone who understands that excellence in technical services enables extraordinary artistic experiences to happen. At the Southbank Centre, technical expertise goes hand in hand with creativity, sustainability and inclusion. You'll be trusted to lead critical building systems, support major events and capital projects, and contribute to long‑term environmental and operational strategy, all while working alongside passionate colleagues who care deeply about what we do and why we do it.
