London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of London's largest and oldest universities with 31,000 students and c.2000 staff. The University has a large and diverse Central London estate portfolio with over 20 buildings totalling 120,000m2 in size. Reporting to the Group Director of Estates Development & Campus Services, the Strategic Estates Master Planner plays a crucial role in shaping and delivering the long-term vision for the Southwark estate, supporting the realisation of the Group Strategy. This role is responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of the masterplan, with a particular focus on transformative projects that leverage the opportunities presented by the wider Elephant and Castle regeneration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading estate masterplanning initiatives
  • Ensuring that estate development supports academic delivery and student experience
  • Leading feasibility and option appraisal for transformative capital projects

The ideal candidate will bring experience of leading estate masterplanning exercises, together with a track record of leading feasibility and option appraisal for major capital projects. The role demands a forward-thinking approach to estate transformation, balancing innovation with operational efficiency to create a sustainable, future-ready estate portfolio.
