Overview
In this senior role, you will lead day-to-day delivery of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services across the Trust’s estate, overseeing in-house and contracted services. You will combine strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient, high-performing transport with a clear focus on patient experience and regulatory compliance. You will drive performance, change, and resilience while managing budgets and using data to improve outcomes. This is a patient-centered, cross-functional leadership opportunity within Essentia’s operational delivery group.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day delivery of Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services across the Trust’s estate (in-house and contracted)
- Oversee assessment, patient liaison, planning and control of transport operations
- Manage transport operations including secure mental health transport, high-dependency transport and inter-site transfers
- Drive performance improvement, change delivery and operational resilience
- Ensure statutory compliance and focus on patient experience
- Utilise technology, data and management information to improve performance and outcomes
- Engage diverse stakeholders and lead inclusive, ambitious teams
- Manage operational budgets and deliver value for money
Key requirements
- Strong track record of leading complex patient transport, logistics, operational or healthcare support services
- Experience in strategic planning and hands-on operational leadership
- Experience of performance improvement and change delivery within a regulated environment
- Commercial and systems capability; budget management and oversight of in-house and contracted services
- Comfortable working with complex operational systems and using data to inform decision-making
- Confident and resilient communication and stakeholder engagement
