A growing main contractor is seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join its Hertfordshire team and take ownership of producing high-quality bid submissions.

Working across varying sectors including education, heritage, commercial, public buildings, and social housing—you’ll play a key role in creating winning responses, managing the bid process from initial receipt through to submission, and ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance throughout.

The environment is fast-paced, with around 120 tenders per year and typical turnarounds of four weeks, so strong written skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple live bids simultaneously are essential. This role suits someone proactive, hands-on, and confident working closely with estimators, coordinators, and operational teams in a friendly and collaborative office.

With clear progression into Bid Management, you’ll have the opportunity to help rebuild and strengthen the work winning function during a period of positive change.

The package includes a £60k base salary, £6k car allowance, hybrid working for the right person, 25 days’ holiday plus additional days after time served.
