Transport Coordinator

Location: East of London

Full-time | Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in supporting the daily transport and logistics operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage daily transport activities to support project and site requirements.
  • Plan and schedule vehicle movements and driver assignments.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
  • Maintain accurate transport records, logs, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and health & safety standards.
  • Support the management of vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Monitor fuel usage, mileage, and associated transport costs.
  • Respond quickly to transport issues to minimize operational disruptions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a transport or logistics coordination role.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant transport legislation and H&S standards.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and transport systems.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.

Desirable Skills:

  • Relevant transport or logistics qualifications.
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Fleet management system knowledge.
  • CPC qualification (advantageous but not essential).
