An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Maintenance & Infrastructure to join a large, complex estate on an interim basis. This is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, engineering services, and statutory compliance across a substantial multi-site campus environment.
The Role
- Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning mechanical, electrical, building fabric, grounds and energy engineering.
- Oversee maintenance strategies, compliance, and risk mitigation across a diverse estate.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met, including management of high-risk areas.
- Drive performance across PPM scheduling, CAFM systems, and reactive repair delivery.
- Manage maintenance budgets and ensure value for money from internal and external resources.
- Act as a senior technical authority for engineering standards and safe systems of work.
- Lead capital and revenue works programmes within the maintenance and engineering portfolio.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high service levels.
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
- A background in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering.
- Strong leadership experience within Hard FM / Estates maintenance environments.
- Excellent knowledge of statutory compliance, H&S legislation and technical standards.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a complex, high-demand setting.
- Experience with CAFM systems and data-driven maintenance planning.
- Chartered or senior professional standing (desirable but not essential for interim).
Contract Details
This is offered as a 6-month FTC with a strong possibility of extension, depending on organisational needs.
