OVERVIEW

MRG is seeking a skilled, Interim Property Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for a diverse estate portfolio. This role will play a key part in managing a wide range of properties, ensuring compliance, optimising leases, and supporting strategic decision‑making during a period of organisational change. This assignment is ideal for a property professional with strong estates, asset management, or commercial property experience—particularly within complex, multi‑site environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day management of this organisations estate, including commercial and leased properties.
  • Manage estate‑related legal matters, property issues, and project planning in tenanted areas.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to negotiate lease terms, break clauses, licences, and renewals.
  • Monitor key lease events to ensure proactive management of expiries, rent reviews, and break dates.
  • Support acquisitions and disposals activity.
  • Coordinate structural surveys and property condition assessments.
  • Work with external advisors on asset valuations.
  • Lead on dilapidations processes and ensure smooth lease terminations.
  • Liaise with advisors on business rates matters.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tenants and commercial partners.
  • Maintain accurate property and lease data records.
  • Contribute to medium‑ and long‑term estates strategy, including future disposals and commercial opportunities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Strong experience in property or estates management (public sector would be advantageous).
  • Proven capability in commercial property, leasing, transactions, and tenant relationship management.
  • Understanding of compliance, surveys, valuations, and technical estate matters.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and deliver at pace in a complex organisation.
  • Professional qualification such as MRICS or working towards.
