As a Maintenance Assistant, your role is crucial in upholding the hotel's operational excellence and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for guests and colleagues alike. Your contributions directly support the smooth running of our property, reflecting our commitment to our values. You'll need to be friendly, caring, creative, and a natural problem solver. You will be responsible for the daily departmental operations, performing essential maintenance duties, including repairs, servicing, painting, and preventative maintenance of all hotel equipment, furniture, and fixtures.

About the role

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain all external areas, including the loading bay and car parking, ensuring a high standard of presentation and safety that reflects our commitment to quality and responsibility.

  • You will be working as an integral part of a team, supporting all your colleagues across departments to deliver outstanding service and standards to our guests, fostering a collaborative and guest-focused environment.

  • You will be required to meticulously complete records that form part of our legal compliance, ensuring accurate reporting and record-keeping, which is essential for upholding our operational standards.

  • Proactively work from the PMS reactive maintenance schedule on a daily basis, prioritising and actioning remedial works as needed to ensure all hotel facilities are in excellent order and to safeguard revenue, showcasing your efficiency and problem-solving skills.

  • Be keenly aware of your responsibility for the security of guests and hotel property, prioritizing safety and demonstrating a vigilant approach.

  • Adhere to proper procedures by referring any departmental supply requirements to the Maintenance Engineer or Senior Management for authorisation, ensuring accountability and correct process.

  • Provide reliable support and deputise for the Maintenance Engineer/Manager during their days off and holiday cover, demonstrating your commitment to the team and contributing to seamless operations.

  • Ensure strict adherence to the Company Health & Safety Policy and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Fire, and COSHH legislation, maintaining scheduled inspections.

  • Records and online compliance systems, prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Perform any other tasks as delegated by your Line Manager, showcasing your adaptability and willingness to contribute wherever needed.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • A valid, clean driving license and use of own car would be a benefit
