Monday – Friday 8-5 but flexibility required for being able to start earlier/finish occasionally (with notice) to support the team/client.

Location: Mall Maidstone, ME15 6AT.

Job Summary: The Fabric Engineer is responsible for the upkeep and repair of building fabric including doors, walls, ceilings within the shopping centre as well as basic decorating, carpentry & plumbing. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues swiftly to ensure smooth operations and an optimal shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Carry out or assist with basic PPM tasks as part of a 3-man team.
  • Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and oversee the repair of faults and malfunctions.
  • Safety Compliance: Assist the team in maintaining a safe and compliant workspace and site.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs utilizing the CAFM system provided.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise and assist with external service providers for specialized repairs and installations when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Be proactive in identifying/reporting issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a commercial or retail environment.
  • Skills: General building maintenance including plumbing, decorating and carpentry skills (preferred).
  • Education: Relevant trade qualification or certification in engineering, building maintenance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with management, vendors, and other staff.
