For over 20 years, The Majestic Line has been hosting Scottish cruising holidays on the beautiful waters off the West Coast. Our four small cruise ships, designed as beautiful floating hotels, access remote and sheltered anchorages that larger boats can't reach. Our dedicated crews provide the very best in Scottish hospitality.
We’re looking for an engineer to join us for the 2026 season. The engineer will be responsible for:
- The maintenance and operation of all machinery and equipment on board the vessel, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers and crew.
- Performing regular maintenance checks, carrying out repairs, and assisting with various operational tasks during cruises.
- Assisting with docking, anchoring, and handling ropes.
- Providing operational support to the skipper including lookout duties and providing relief helm when not inspecting and maintaining machinery.
- Ensuring tender is fuelled, clean and tidy and in working order.
- Assisting in dealing with the needs and comfort of passengers, particularly on arrival and during mealtimes.
- Respond to all onboard ship emergencies along with other crew members.
- Be thoroughly aware of all Safety Management System requirements and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of mechanical and electrical marine systems.
- Medical, ENG1 or ML5.
- AEC 1 (The MCA Approved Engine Certificate) preferred.
- RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance Course (minimum qualification).
- STCW or equivalent (Standards of Training, certification and Watchkeeping) preferred.
- PBL2 (RYA Powerboat Level 2) preferred.
