Scope and General Purpose of Job
To support the restaurant service team by ensuring the prompt, accurate, and efficient delivery of food and beverages to guests while maintaining The MAINE standards of service. The Runner is responsible for facilitating smooth communication between the kitchen and the restaurant floor, ensuring food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
Main Duties
- To deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately from the kitchen and bar to guests, following The MAINE standards of service.
- To ensure all orders are checked for accuracy, presentation, and completeness before leaving the kitchen or bar.
- To communicate effectively with chefs, waiters, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- To assist waiters by clearing, resetting, and preparing tables throughout service.
- To ensure food is delivered to the correct guest and to announce dishes when serving where required.
- To maintain cleanliness and organisation of all service stations, pass areas, and back-of-house service areas.
- To assist in preparing service equipment, condiments, cutlery, and other operational supplies before, during, and after service.
- To monitor operating supplies and report shortages to supervisors.
