We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Systems Project Manager to lead the implementation of a key finance systems project within a religious organisation. This role reports directly to the Assistant Director of Finance (Project Sponsor) and offers a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering critical systems improvements within a well-established organisation.

About the Role:

As the Finance Systems Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the planning and execution of a complex finance system implementation. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of success in delivering finance systems projects, with strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical project management expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead and motivate the finance project team to meet delivery goals.
  • Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders on progress and challenges.
  • Manage project resources efficiently, ensuring delivery within budget and timescales.
  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Track and control project costs, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure all outputs meet required quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Liaise with system suppliers and internal teams, developing excellent customer relationships.
  • Compile and submit regular project updates and reports.
  • Design and manage user training and UAT.
  • Oversee project closure and successful handover.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Member of the Association of Project Management (APM) or equivalent, with strong credentials.
  • Proven experience delivering finance system projects end-to-end.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Membership of a professional accountancy body is desirable (e.g. ACCA, ICA, CIMA).
