Property Inspector – Social Housing

Circa £34,000

Full time | 37 hours per week Monday – Friday

Are you a detail-driven problem-solver with a knack for spotting issues before they become problems? Do you take pride in ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained? We’re looking for an experienced Property Inspector to join our dedicated Property Services team.

We are recruiting for a Property Inspector for a small but ambitious housing provider with a strong local identity and a big mission – to put customers at the heart of everything they do. You’ll be part of a supportive, friendly team that’s serious about doing great work but also knows how to enjoy the journey.

You’ll be carrying out property inspections across a varied portfolio of homes, identifying repairs, tackling damp and mould issues, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards. From writing clear technical reports to liaising with contractors and ensuring compliance with housing legislation, your role will be central to keeping our customers’ homes safe, comfortable, and well looked after.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Conducting property inspections and diagnosing repairs
  • Recommending cost-effective solutions and guiding customers where needed
  • Approving and signing off completed works
  • Ensuring properties meet all health, safety, and housing regulations
  • Managing inspection records and raising works orders accurately and on time
  • Carrying out quality audits and safety checks
  • Supporting the achievement of maintenance and repairs KPIs

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience as a Technical Inspector, Surveyor, or trades background (ideally in social housing or property maintenance)
  • Strong technical knowledge of building fabric, defects, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to write clear technical reports and specifications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Confident IT user with strong attention to detail
  • A full driving licence is essential

Desirable skills:

  • Level 3 qualification in Surveying/Construction
  • HHSRS Assessor qualification
  • Experience in damp, condensation, and mould surveying
