A short-term opportunity for an experienced policy and advocacy professional to influence public policy and business practice in support of workers in developing countries.

The Role

  • Develop and deliver policy and advocacy strategies in priority areas such as trade policy, living income and wages, climate, and business & human rights.
  • Monitor political, regulatory, and parliamentary developments, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Engage with parliamentarians and government officials, including preparing briefings, correspondence, ministerial letters, and meeting requests.
  • Manage parliamentary engagement activities, including APPG administration, party conference preparation, and stakeholder mapping.
  • Work closely with campaigns teams to identify opportunities for campaigner activation.
  • Produce high-quality policy analysis, messaging, and reports that translate complex issues into accessible and persuasive content.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners, NGOs, and networks.

About You

  • Proven experience in policy, public affairs, or advocacy at national and/or international levels.
  • Strong understanding of the UK political system, parliamentary processes, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Values-driven, collaborative, and able to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
