Digital Learning Manager

Hybrid working – 2 days London Office, 3 days home based
Salary: £39,375

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected international professional membership organisation for an experienced Digital Learning Manager to take ownership of its member-facing digital learning platform and help shape the future of its online learning offering.

This is a varied role combining learning technology, digital learning design, platform management, content development and data-led continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in ensuring digital learning delivers an engaging, accessible and high-quality experience for members throughout their careers.

The Role

Working within the Professional Development team, you will manage and continually improve the organisation's digital learning platform, working with internal teams, subject matter experts and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing the day-to-day operation, administration and development of the digital learning platform/LMS.
  • Implementing the platform roadmap and identifying opportunities to improve functionality, learner engagement and efficiency.
  • Applying learning design and adult learning principles to create engaging and effective digital learning experiences.
  • Advising subject matter experts and content owners on learning objectives, pathways and curriculum design.
  • Commissioning, curating and overseeing digital learning content across multiple formats.
  • Managing content publishing, migration, lifecycle management, taxonomy, metadata and quality assurance.
  • Evaluating learner journeys and identifying opportunities to improve engagement, completion rates and learning outcomes.
  • Developing dashboards, analytics and reporting to monitor learner engagement and platform performance.
  • Using learner data and feedback to make evidence-based recommendations for improvements.
  • Providing training and guidance to administrators, authors and platform users.
  • Ensuring accessibility, quality, data protection and governance standards are maintained.
  • Managing relationships with external technology and content suppliers.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong LMS/platform expertise with a genuine understanding of digital learning and learner experience.

Experience required

  • Experience managing, administering or implementing a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Strong knowledge of Totara LMS or a comparable enterprise learning platform.
  • Experience working on digital transformation, systems implementation or change projects.
  • Experience applying instructional design methodologies, learning design frameworks and adult learning principles.
  • Experience developing and managing digital learning content.
  • An understanding of competency-based learning pathways and professional development programmes.
  • Experience using data, learner analytics and feedback to evaluate and improve learning effectiveness.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with subject matter experts and external suppliers.
  • Knowledge of learner experience (LX), user experience (UX) and accessibility within digital learning.
  • A strong continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset.

Experience within a professional membership body, regulated sector or similar organisation would be advantageous.

A relevant qualification in Learning Technology, Digital Learning, Learning Design or Instructional Design would also be desirable.
