If you’re passionate about editorial work and want to be part of a purpose-led organisation making a difference across generations, we’d love to hear from you.

Are you a detail-oriented editorial professional looking for your next step in a dynamic and meaningful environment? A leading international professional body is seeking an Assistant Editor to join its communications team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in producing high-quality digital publications read by expert professionals around the world.

About the Role

You’ll support the editorial production of two core member publications: a bi-monthly digital magazine and a quarterly technical supplement. Working closely with a small, collaborative team including a Managing Editor and Graphic Designer, you’ll take content from submission through to online publication—editing, proofreading, uploading, and ensuring smooth communication with contributors.

You’ll also contribute to newsletters, compile society news, liaise with publishers, and ensure content is engaging, accessible and aligned with house style. Analytical reporting on audience engagement will help shape content strategy, and you’ll be a key contact for stakeholders across departments and regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Copy-editing and proofreading digital content
  • Uploading and managing articles via CMS
  • Coordinating with authors, editors, and designers
  • Writing short news items and compiling content features
  • Producing and scheduling newsletters
  • Tracking and reporting on engagement analytics
  • Supporting editorial board meetings
  • Upholding accessibility and editorial best practices

Skills and experience required:

  • You’ll bring at least two years’ experience in a similar editorial or publishing role—ideally with B2B or technical content.
  • You’ll have a keen eye for detail, a passion for clear communication, and an aptitude for making complex topics engaging and accessible.
  • Experience within legal, financial or membership sectors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and SEO.
  • You’ll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong copy-editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in managing content via digital platforms.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • A self-starter with a problem-solving mindset.
