  • Oversee contractor safety and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Provide SHE metrics and updates for site leadership.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support environmental compliance and reporting, including waste management and sustainability initiatives.
  • Help identify opportunities to reduce waste, water and electricity use.
  • Support the investigation and reporting of environmental incidents.

About You

You will be a proactive SHE professional who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of operational safety priorities.

You will be equally confident providing hands-on support and completing the documentation and reporting required for compliance and audit readiness.

You will ideally have

  • Experience with safety management systems, audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance documentation.
  • Experience identifying gaps in existing controls and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of equipment safety and safe systems of work.
  • Experience supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • The confidence to work autonomously, make decisions and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organisation and IT skills.
  • A relevant degree, apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience.
  • A NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. Candidates without a formal qualification should have substantial relevant industry experience.
  • FMCG or R&D experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Environmental experience or qualifications such as IEMA or Environmental NEBOSH would be beneficial but are not essential.
