The Magnum Ice Cream Company, an independent, publicly listed company, is focused on growth, innovation and performance. Located in the Midlands, this home‑based role supports the company’s out‑of‑home (OOH) channel strategy across the UK.
Job Purpose
Lead, develop and coach a regional third‑party field sales team to deliver business objectives through coaching, governance of capex and investment budgets, and full ownership of the national OOH strategy within the territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of business development and sales executives to deliver regional and business goals.
- Accountable for overall regional value share delivered through distribution and execution metrics, including retention and acquisition of coverage points, sales rate, capex ownership and visibility.
- Motivate, coach and develop field teams, fostering performance and capability growth.
- Create strong cross‑functional relationships with customer marketing, finance and refrigeration teams.
- Develop market‑leading RTM relationships with national and regional customer account managers, and maintain ties with key customers, wholesalers/reps and route‑to‑market partners.
- Recruit, onboard and train new team members; build an inclusive, performance‑led culture with clear standards, engagement and recognition.
- Execute the company’s presence in the independent channel, applying commercial excellence to manage and build an investment plan for medium‑to‑small regional customers.
What You Need to Succeed
- Excellent line manager skills, including recruitment, development and coaching.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and execute tasks.
- Advanced negotiation and customer relationship building skills.
- Robust commercial understanding and P&L literacy; strong analytical skills to derive insight from data.
- Deep personal accountability for performance.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to growing existing customers and winning new ones.
- Strong IT skills, particularly MS Office, and ability to use other sales systems such as Power BI.
