JOB PURPOSE

The UK&I is one of the biggest ice‑cream markets in Europe and the world, working across Retail, Out‑of‑Home and D‑COMM channels. This role is an exciting opportunity to join the new standalone Ice‑Cream company customer team and be part of the broader In‑Home Customer Development team that manages over 70% of the total business and now also includes DCOMM and ICNOW channels. The Morrisons Controller is the first touchpoint for our customers. The role will be responsible for end‑to‑end customer execution and partnership, including omni‑channel performance. Your focus will be to establish standalone relationships with Morrisons and build confidence in the new Ice‑cream company during the de‑merger process and beyond.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build strong and sustainable customer relationships with the customer.
  • Develop and execute customer business plans at a category level that deliver usg, market share and profitability in line with our fundamentals for growth ambitions.
  • Be the key person accountable for the day‑to‑day contact with the customer buyers, supply chain, shopper marketing and internal commercial & brand contacts.
  • Negotiate effectively with the customer – e.g. trade terms, trade funding and counterparts according to the UL strategy on their categories.
  • Manage the relationship aspects of key customer events – e.g. launching new products, cost‑price changes, breaches of trade terms.
  • Develop and deliver a strategic customer business plan for relevant categories, the joint customer business plan, working with Category Managers and Shopper Marketing.
  • Develop an optimal integrated category promotional plan (including selling the plan to the customer).
  • Manage promotional and non‑promotional investments with the customer and ensure all agreements are properly documented and stored.
  • Work closely with Commercial Executives to ensure administrative aspects of promotions are completed.
  • Manage the launch of new products with customers – e.g. selling in the new product, providing samples etc.
  • Ensure effective in‑store activation of key events (e.g. promotions, range reviews), providing clear briefings to the Retail Operations Team.
  • Manage the customer P&L for relevant categories and level of customer investment.
  • Manage in‑month performance vs forecast, working closely with Customer Business Managers and Customer Operations.
  • Manage accruals and pricing accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure the customer complies with agreed trade terms; where these are breached seek a resolution and monitor implementation.
  • P&L Management: Deliver turnover & business‑building terms targets for specific category.
  • S&OP forecasting. Business planning, sales updates, in‑store tracking, price claim management etc.
  • Provide required admin for the customer – pricing, rebates, NLF, promo proposals, trade terms, contracts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Customer management & selling essentials – previous experience within a CAM role.
  • Prior commercial experience and exposure to P&L.
  • Proven history of working within a team environment.
  • Prior experience leading and developing a direct report (preferable but not essential).
  • Relevant years in account management/field sales experience.
  • Relevant years of shopper marketing or category management experience (preferable).
