About The Role

As a teacher at our sixth form college, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire academic excellence and independent thinking, teaching 16–19‑year‑olds in A level Mathematics and A level Statistics. We do not teach GCSE Mathematics. Collaboration with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and tailored support is essential. This role also involves contributing to the wider college community through enrichment activities and academic mentoring.

What We Are Looking For

Sir John Deane's seeks to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to contribute to the work of this thriving department. The Mathematics Department is the largest in the College with outstanding outcomes in all three subjects offered: A level Mathematics, A level Further Mathematics and A level Statistics. We are seeking to appoint an individual with a strong academic background in Mathematics, to cover a period of maternity leave. A love of teaching and a passion for all aspects of the subject is essential. A Level experience is not an essential requirement. The successful candidate should have the ability to teach both A level Mathematics and A level Statistics. An ability to teach another A level subject for example: Further Mathematics or Computer Science would be welcomed, but this is not a pre‑requisite for the successful applicant.
