We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join The M Kitchen (The Meze), a busy modern Turkish restaurant with a twist in Bexleyheath, as our Head Chef. This is a significant opportunity for a talented chef with strong Turkish grill and charcoal cooking expertise, ready to take full control of kitchen operations and drive our culinary vision forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all kitchen operations and service delivery
  • Leading, training, and motivating the kitchen team to achieve excellence
  • Upholding and elevating high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Managing stock control, efficient ordering, and fostering strong supplier relationships
  • Ensuring strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance
  • Controlling kitchen costs and actively minimizing waste
  • Developing and maintaining authentic Turkish menu standards, reflecting our modern twist
  • Collaborating closely with management to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong, demonstrable experience in Turkish grill and charcoal cooking
  • Excellent knowledge of traditional Turkish cuisine and modern cooking methods
  • Outstanding leadership and kitchen management skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • A reliable, organised, and hands-on approach to kitchen leadership

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: From 5:00 PM
  • Friday, Saturday & Sunday: From 12:00 PM
