Blend Operations Testing Technician
Join our dynamic team as a Fluid Technician where you\’ll engage in a versatile role that supports blend operations and testing in a laboratory setting
We\’re seeking candidates who are enthusiastic about maintaining high standards in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices while performing component blending and chemical handling.
You\’ll interact with stakeholders, learn various blending methods, and respond professionally to customer inquiries

This is a hybrid role covering allaspects of the blend operations laboratory with flexible cross-over work supporting the testing andanalytical laboratories
In this position, you will join an experienced team dedicated to delivering results correctly and efficiently in the following core activities
- Maintain a strong understanding and compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) best practices in an operational setting.
- Perform small and large scale component blending within a laboratory based environment.
- Interact with internal stakeholders/customers.
- Chemical handling during the blending process and laboratory testing.
- Reading and engaging with chemical safety data sheets.
- Learn a variety of different blending methods and templates, and laboratory tests.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries.
- Optional overtime to maintain key processes during busy periods or provide holiday cover offered during the week and weekends.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity and cyber security enhancements
- Training Provided:Training will be offered for all aspects of this position, including health and safety practices within the laboratory.
For success in this role, the candidate should possess:
- A solid understanding of Health and Safety in operational environments.
- Proven PC skills, including a strong grasp of Microsoft Systems; familiarity with systems like SAP is advantageous, with training provided.
- The ability to manage workload independently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Capability to handle stock containers weighing up to 30kg and operate manual handling equipment for heavier containers.
- A Fork Lift Truck license is beneficial but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
- Experience in material dispensing, particularly weighing chemicals accurately.
- Experience in handling customer inquiries and providing relevant information.
- Proficiency in multitasking, organisation, and prioritisation.
- Flexibility to work in various departmental areas to ensure efficient operations.
- Skills in troubleshooting equipment, performing procedures, and reducing variability to improve efficiency.
- Ability to maintain equipment and supplies.
- Drive for self-development with support from the line manager.
Additional Requirements:
This role actively contributes to the process of material dispatch’s per government regulations, applicants must provide their career history for the past five years and consent to a career history and DBS check.
