An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reception Supervisor to join the Front of House team at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester’s iconic five-star hotel. Based in the Lobby and Reception areas, this is a highly guest-facing supervisory role responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the Front Desk while delivering exceptional five-star service. The Reception Supervisor plays a key role in leading the reception team, ensuring brand standards are consistently upheld, and that every guest receives a personalised, professional, and intuitive service throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Reception and Lobby areas, ensuring the highest standards of service at all times.
- Act as a visible leader on shift, supporting, motivating, and guiding the reception team.
- Welcome and check-in guests, ensuring a warm and seamless arrival experience.
- Handle guest enquiries, requests, and concerns efficiently and professionally, resolving issues to the highest standard.
- Oversee cashiering procedures, billing accuracy, and financial controls throughout the guest journey.
- Ensure a positive and lasting impression is maintained at departure.
- Support the training and development of reception team members, including new starters.
- Maintain effective communication with all hotel departments to ensure a smooth guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, excellent guest care and social skills, be standards driven, and have the ability to use their own initiative and work as part of a dynamic team. Knowledge of Opera is preferred but not required - full training will be provided.
The hours of work are on a shift basis including evenings and weekends.
