The exciting role of Door Person has arisen at the 5* Lowry Hotel – Manchester’s Iconic five-star hotel.
The role involves working within the concierge team greeting guests, assisting with luggage from cars, valet parking cars and ensuring that every guest is warmly greeted and assisted. Specific duties are as follows.
To ensure that guest luggage service is carried out in a prompt, efficient and secure manner and in accordance with the standards outlined by the Concierge department.
To ensure that accurate records are prepared and maintained recording all movements of guest luggage in the hotel.
To maintain a close liaison between Reception and Porters – to ensure an efficient and prompt luggage service at all times.
To carry guests luggage from arrival point to luggage room on arrival and from luggage room to guest departure point on checkout.
To keep the hotel car park and surrounding area clean and tidy at all times.
To open all doors for guests arriving and departing the hotel.
To keep steps and glass entrance doors clean and tidy at all times.
To be fully aware of the hotel\’s facilities e.g. location and opening times of outlets, types of menu served etc.
To be fully aware of all hotel promotions and daily in-house functions.
To have a good knowledge of the local area, facilities and events – so as to ensure that accurate information is passed to guests during their stay. To escort guests to and from chosen destinations via the hotel Cruiser.
To order contract taxis for guests/staff.
To hail taxis for guests.
To operate the post and parcel service.
To answer the Concierge telephone promptly and to handle guest/staff enquiries in a professional manner.
As the Door Person is the first employee our guests see on arrival and departure from the hotel, you have the opportunity to provide an excellent level of customer service to help make a positive first and last impression of the hotel. If you can provide excellent guest service and have a proactive approach with an eye for detail and a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude we would like to hear from you.
The hours of work are on a shift basis five days out of seven including weekends, early starts and late finishes.
