Post Title: Exams Invigilator

Hours: Periodically as required throughout the year, usually 2 weeks in November, 3 weeks in March, all of May and June.

Salary Grade: £14.29 per hour

Responsible to: Exams and Assessment Officer

Overview

We are looking to expand our team of Exam Invigilators to support the school with invigilation of external and internal examinations. Examinations are run strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations of the respective examinations boards, the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) and the school. The role is to commence as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Admit candidates to the examination rooms in a quiet and orderly way, handing out and collecting examination materials.
  • Vigilance while an examination is running.
  • Ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the stipulated guidelines.
  • Enforce regulations firmly but fairly if necessary and deal effectively and promptly with any problem.
  • Attend all necessary training and adhere at all times to JCQ regulations.

Qualifications

  • Effective and confident communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Punctuality, flexibility, reliability and an eye for detail.
  • Experience of working in the education sector would be beneficial but not essential.
