The Lost Gardens of Heligan is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porters to join its busy kitchen team. This is a vital role at the heart of our food operations, supporting chefs and front-of-house teams to deliver a consistently high standard of service to our visitors.

Working across Heligan’s restaurants, cafés and event spaces, the successful candidates will play a key part in ensuring our kitchens run smoothly during peak service times, helping to deliver exceptional food experiences for hundreds of thousands of guests each year.

They will be responsible for maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils and workspaces are kept spotless and organised. The role will also involve supporting chefs with basic food preparation, managing waste and recycling processes and ensuring storage areas are well maintained and efficiently stocked.

The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, a positive and proactive attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. They will be team players with good communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Applicants should be flexible and willing to work a range of hours, including weekends, evenings and peak holiday periods. This role is offered on a seasonal basis, with the potential for permanent opportunities for the right candidates. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is a Living Wage employer.
