What the role involves:
- Support the School’s expanding research portfolio and wide array of research laboratories.
- Ensure that equipment is used safely and efficiently and be responsible for maintaining stocks of chemicals and consumables in laboratories.
- Provide support and expertise to student research projects at all levels including sample collection, preparation, and analysis using a variety of techniques.
Skills and requirements:
- Experience in working in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to support busy research laboratories and help academic staff.
- Be responsible for maintaining equipment, organising servicing as required, carrying out user inductions and training, and supervising where necessary.
- Produce standard operating procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, COSHH forms, and other documentation required by research project aims.
Candidate fit:
