Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Embryologist to support the operational and clinical functions within our new Bristol laboratory. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in embryology, andrology and relevant clinical skills, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform key Embryology and Andrology procedures including IVF/ICSI, embryo culture, assessment, and cryopreservation.
- Oversee patient care processes and ensure adherence to clinical protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and full traceability in line with HFEA requirements and laboratory SOPs.
- Provide training and support to staff in relevant areas.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medical records and ensure confidentiality is upheld.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Weekend and on-call rota.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:
- At least 4 years experience as an Embryologist.
- Knowledge of HFEA and UK Legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement in clinical practices.
- Degree in Biology or Biomedical Sciences.
- Biopsy practitioner desirable but not essential.
