Who We Are

The Standard is a media company that offers news and culture for Londoners, everywhere. We deliver content through digital, audio, video, and social platforms, as well as a new weekly print product called The London Standard. We also create live experiences and events and collaborate with a number of OOH partners.

Our headquarters are located in Finsbury Square, London.

The role

The Standard is seeking an operations manager to run the production and distribution of its new weekly title, the London Standard.

The London Standard is distributed weekly around London, through a combination of hand-to-hand, bins, placement in corporate and cultural locations and with a small but increasing wholesale distribution.

This person is responsible for managing all operational activities around print production and distribution to ensure the efficient running of the weekly print title. They will oversee contract and operational management of third-party suppliers to ensure that distribution stays on budget and compliant with audit standards.

Skills and experience

• Experience in the print distribution space.

• Knowledge of ABC rules and regulations.

• Robust contract management and negotiation skills.

• Ability to build relationships with external suppliers and negotiate competitive contracts.

• Confident in meeting and presenting to stakeholders at all levels.

• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities, effective at prioritising and multitasking.

• Analytical skills to evaluate data and performance/operation metrics.

• Problem solving, creative thinking and ability to work in team.

• People management experience.

• Excellent time management and decision-making skills.
