  • Deliver employability and progression sessions including job search skills, CV writing, interview techniques, and workplace confidence.
  • Offer motivational and pastoral support to help learners overcome barriers such as confidence, motivation, or external challenges.
  • Celebrate learner success and help plan next steps into work, apprenticeships, or further learning.
  • Track and record learner progression, attendance, and achievements to ensure positive outcomes and programme completion.
  • Support learners to access suitable vacancies, training, and development opportunities aligned with their goals.
  • Maintain strong links with tutors, the Data and Compliance Officer, and the Head of FE to ensure a joined-up approach to learner progress.
  • Contribute to LSST’s FE performance targets including retention, progression, and learner satisfaction.
  • Work closely with tutors to identify learners requiring additional coaching or support.
  • Liaise with local employers and partners to identify opportunities for learners.
  • Contribute to learner celebration events and promotional activities (e.g. success stories, newsletters, imagery for publicity).
  • Participate in regular team meetings and staff development sessions to ensure high-quality learner support.
  • Uphold LSST’s safeguarding, Prevent, and wellbeing policies, ensuring all concerns are appropriately reported.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of learner support interactions.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across all aspects of learner engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and quality assurance requirements.

Personal Qualities

  • Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Professional, approachable, and reliable.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated by outcomes and learner success.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to LSST’s growing FE provision and learner success.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners who may face barriers to engagement.
  • Confident using IT systems for recording and tracking learner progress.
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Desirable

  • Experience in Further Education, Skills Bootcamps, or employability programmes.
  • Qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG), Coaching, or Mentoring (e.g. Level 3 or 4).
  • Knowledge of local labour market opportunities in the West Midlands.
