The Grantham Research Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of the economics and social sciences of climate change and other global environmental problems, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. EarthCap Nexus brings together world-leading research, technical expertise, and convening power to address a critical blind spot in today's economy - the invisibility of natural capital and people in financial and economic decision-making. Its mission is to align finance and economic systems with climate, nature and societal goals, catalysing finance for sustainable, inclusive growth and resilience, particularly in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs).

Working closely with Professor Nicola Ranger and the EarthCap team, the post holder will play an important role in delivering rigorous, research-based, user-focused and policy-oriented analysis on climate- and nature-related financial risks, resilience and sustainable economic development. The Policy Fellow will contribute to the design and delivery of applied high-quality and policy-relevant research within the EarthCap Intelligence Hub, including the development of datasets, analytical frameworks and evidence-based insights that support decision-making by financial institutions, corporates and policymakers. The role will also involve managing specific research workstreams, engaging with policy and financial sector stakeholders, and contributing to the production of reports, policy briefs and other outputs that translate technical research into practical policy insights.

Candidates Should Have

  • A master's degree, or equivalent professional experience, in economics, finance, environmental policy, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience conducting research-based, user-focused and policy-oriented analysis, ideally with knowledge of climate- and nature-related financial risks, corporate sustainability, or data-driven policy analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesise and communicate complex analytical insights clearly and accessibly to policy, business and financial audiences.
  • Experience managing or coordinating projects or workstreams involving multiple partners or stakeholders, with clear delivery milestones.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working and excellent training and development opportunities.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 9 April 2026 (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications.
