Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a full-time fixed term appointment for six to twelve months, starting in September 2026.

The International Growth Centre (IGC) is a set of country teams across Africa, South Asia and the Middle East working with governments to drive inclusive and sustainable growth. Supported by a world-leading research network and directed by the London School of Economics, Addis Ababa University (AAU), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and Oxford University, we inform policy that changes lives.

The Digital Communications Manager (Maternity Cover) will play a crucial role in promoting IGC, its ideas for growth, research findings, and policy advice to IGC’s key audiences through our digital products and platforms, and social media channels. Managing external contractors, they will drive IGC’s digital communications activities. The role will support the IGC’s transition to a decentralised, digitally enabled communications approach, helping country teams to communicate effectively and independently through accessible digital systems, templates, workflows, and guidance. The role will also lead the adoption of AI-supported and automated communications workflows.

  • Significant experience delivering digital communications across websites, social media and email, including creating engaging multimedia content.
  • Experience using AI and digital innovation to improve communications and workflows.
  • Experience developing and managing digital content strategies, ideally within a research, policy or international development environment.
  • Strong website management experience, including CMS administration (preferably Drupal), analytics (GA4/Google Analytics), SEO and user experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting colleagues, and working collaboratively in multidisciplinary and international teams.
