Responsibilities:

  • Lead a talented and experienced team of counsellors to deliver on the service goals in collaboration with the Counselling Service Manager.
  • Assist in implementing the overall strategic intent and operational management for the Counselling Service.
  • Be involved in the leadership, development, organisation and management of the Counselling Service.
  • Carry a small caseload of clients.

The postholder will also support the Counselling Service Manager in implementing the overall strategic intent and operational management for the Counselling Service. They will be involved in the leadership, development, organisation and management of the Counselling Service.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will have significant experience of providing brief, solution-focused counselling within a public sector setting, and be skilled in working with a range of clients from diverse backgrounds, as well as with a variety of presenting issues.
  • As this is a management role within a large counselling service, previous experience of management is essential.
  • Must hold BACP/NCPS/BPS/UKCP Accreditation. Applicants who do not meet the requirements for full professional accreditation will not be considered for this post.

  • This position will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Any offer of employment made is conditional on receipt of a satisfactory DBS check.
