Overview
Assistant Professor in Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Economics. The post is part of a strategy to build a research faculty that can create world‑leading publications in Economic Theory and Empirical Economics. The position will start on 1 September 2026.

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate students in Economics, Econometrics or related fields.
- Carve out a research agenda that can lead to world‑leading publications in top economics journals and leading book publishers.
- Mentor students and contribute to the collegial faculty environment.

Qualifications
- PhD in Economics or a related discipline, or be close to obtaining a PhD by the post start date.
- Track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications.
- Demonstrated ability to publish in top journals or with leading book publishers in Economics and/or Econometrics.
- Clear, well‑developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that can result in world‑leading publications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to establish an international reputation in these fields.
Salary & Benefits
Salary is no less than £68,087 per annum. The post attracts a significant market salary supplement which reflects current market conditions.
