Digital Skills Lab LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university. This is a fixed term appointment until 31 July 2028. The AI and Education Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic community to integrate AI effectively into their teaching practice. Working alongside the AI and Education Fellowship programme and an existing AI and Education Specialist who focuses on supporting the AI Fellows, this role will support and facilitate the sharing of AI approaches at the discipline and cognate discipline level.

Reporting to the Head of the Digital Skills Lab, with a dotted line to the Head of the Digital Education Futures and Deputy Director of the Eden Centre, the post-holder will work directly with individual academics and disciplinary groups across LSE, providing tailored, context-specific support to develop AI approaches that meet their particular teaching and assessment needs. This includes supporting course redesign, facilitating the adoption of innovative teaching methods, and commissioning technical work when needed.

The successful candidate will contribute to strategic and practical guidance on using artificial intelligence technologies to augment teaching and learning, collaborating closely with academic staff, experts across the School, and external providers. This role requires a proactive, innovative, and collaborative approach to embedding new digital tools in education and fostering a dynamic community of practice.

Candidates Should Have:

  • A professional or postgraduate qualification in an education related area, Advance HE/HEA Fellowship or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies in education, including AI tools.
  • A proven track record of designing and implementing technology-enhanced learning solutions, including producing documentation and/or training and development activities.
  • Experience of teaching and/or supporting student learning.
